Sport camp: Learn to dive in Cyprus (Open Water Diver Course)

Before your trip

You can complete the theory from the comfort of your own home online or in an app and at your own pace. As soon as you have registered, you will receive all the links so that you can register with SSI and the course will be activated for you. So you can learn stress-free and fully engage in the course.

Pre-dive briefing

Your diving adventure begins with our partner diving school. Before each dive you will be explained exactly what to expect and all exercises will be gone through with you so that you are well prepared.

Practice in shallow water

In 3-4 sessions at a maximum depth of 5 meters, we will teach you the exercises you need to move safely and have fun underwater. We don't see practice as a checklist, but as a way to teach you how to dive and to support you in your learning journey. We look forward to working with you and helping you grow into a safe and confident diver.

1st dive

On your first dive you will dive up to 12 meters deep. Here you'll review the exercises you've mastered in shallow water to keep them handy. Of course we will also have enough time to see our surroundings and have a great dive.

2nd dive

With a detailed briefing we will prepare for the second dive. We are happy to take you to one of the beautiful dive sites in the area and repeat other exercises you have learned in shallow water. In this way you will already build up the first routines, which is an important goal of the course.

3rd dive

Depending on the dive site, it will now go down to 18 meters deep. Now you will learn more about dive planning and air management. Slow ascents and the safety stop make the dives a safe experience, even at 18 meters. You'll see how much at home you already feel underwater.

4th dive

Set the buoy, repeat a few exercises, but above all have fun and enjoy! After the last dive you will be a real Open Water Diver and a door to a new world will open for you.

Debriefing

After each dive, we will take the time to share our experiences and document your dives in the SSI app's digital logbook. This will help you track your progress and remember the adventures you've had underwater. After the flat water session there is also a test that tests your theoretical knowledge. This way we can ensure that you are well prepared and safe to dive and that you have internalized everything you have learned.

End of course

After successfully completing the course, you can proudly call yourself an Open Water Diver! Now you have the opportunity to go diving all over the world and to discover the underwater world in all its facets. You can dive up to 18 meters deep as long as you have a qualified dive buddy by your side. But the course is not the end of the journey - there are many more opportunities to expand your diving skills and knowledge.
